When it comes to Christmas in the capital then there is a wide variety of activities available to get you into the festive spirit. We take a look at 7 of the best that is around this festive season.
The Corner of Hyde Park features a pop-up winter wonderland every year and this year is no exception. This features funfair rides, ice skating rinks, and all sorts of wooden stalls selling Christmas gifts and festive snacks. Entrance is free, though the rides and performances cost a little extra, kids will love it.
Strolling along Oxford Street in the early afternoon darkness and checking out the amazing Christmas Lights is almost a rite of passage in the capital. The turning on is a big affair and has featured a huge number of different celebrities over the year. You will also find many little side gigs and other pop-up entertainments along the way.
Leicester Square is one of the most-visited parts of London and each Christmas this gets transformed into an amazing Christmas Market. As well as being able to find lots of gifts and food and drinks that will keep the festive spirit flowing there is the chance to meet and greet with Santa.
From one square to another. The Christmas tree displayed in Trafalgar Square is a London tradition that has been going on since 1947. The city of Oslo sends it every year in recognition of the service the capital gave during World War 2. It is decorated and lit up every year and a great feature.
This is another great festive favourite that is popular with both kids and adults alike. Many different ice rinks pop-up all across the capital. The Natural History Museum, The Tower and London and Hampton Court Palace all feature amazing ice rinks and will have you twirling the day away.
Whilst you might not be able to afford anything, you can certainly window shop well at Harrods. The store will feature anything and everything Christmassy you could want. Christmas in the Harry Potter world was always a huge affair and this is reflected at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where they go nuts for Christmas. You will be able to see anything and everything from the films and learn how the crew made Snow that never melts. Take a break from your tour and enjoy a warming butterbeer. As well as enjoy the festive decorations in the Great Hall.
